Travel Club Newsletter-September 2012

Greetings to all our dedicated followers and a special welcome to new comers who have recently discovered the pleasure of experiencing a Central Motorways Coach Tour.

“Spring is the time of the year, when it is summer in the sun and winter in the shade.”

Charles Dickens

Of course, September is also the month we welcome the official start of the spring season, and as we are well used to inNew Zealand, the weather can throw up many variables for everyone to cope with.

In the spring, I have counted 136 different kinds of weather inside of 24 hours.
– Mark Twain

We have had another successful year of touring thanks to the eager participation of those of you who were fortunate enough to be able to treat yourselves to a memorable break away on either our April “Top of the South Island” tour or August “Necklace of Picturesque Bays” East Cape and Central North Island tour.  For both tours we again, had so many bookings we sent two near full coaches on both tour routes and just as important, we were delighted not to have to put up the “Sorry Sold Out” sign for anyone who was keen to come.

Thank you to all those who came on our August Tour to the East Cape and Central North Island areas.  A great group of people joined both tours. The weather was kind to us, we had good accommodation, a smooth ferry crossing and with great scenery thrown in – it was all the ingredients we needed for another successful coach tour. I have spoken to Doug and Karen and they said that they had a blast and that the groups this year really relaxed into their holidays.

I now have my thinking cap on for next year’sAugustNorthIslandtrip. We will endeavour to introduce different places to target and stopovers that suit our groups, bearing in mind the hotels will need to be of a standard and suit our requirements. The itinerary will focus on Taranaki,BayofIslandsandCapeReingabut with a difference to enable past travellers to see something new.  You will be guaranteed spectacular scenery and the company of great travel companions and it is not too early to register your interest with our office.

We have already let out a few secrets about our next Autumn Gold Tour 2013 to whet the appetite of some our regular travellers.   The itinerary enclosed with this mailing will confirm that are definitely planning to visit Milford Sound, including a cruise on the fiord.  Another popular inclusion will be the night’s stay at the Hermitage, Mt Cook.

With some bookings already registered for this trip, I feel it is going to be very popular once again and seats will be snapped up in no time.  Remember there is no deposit money to be paid although we like to know people are serious about coming along – just give our office a call on 0800 487 488 to book your seat.

We have specifically positioned the tour just after Easter but before ANZAC day, from Monday 15 April to Monday 22 April, so you can meet your commitments on these important public holidays, yet still sneak away for a fun filled holiday in between.

Now remember if you know of anyone that you think would love to receive our newsletters and itineraries just give us a call (0800 487 488) with their details and we will get something in the post to them.  Everyone loves getting mail.

   Kind regards

Travel Club Newsletter – May 2012

Greetings to Members, Friends and a special welcome to New Members who have discovered the delights of participating in a Central Motorways Coach Tour.

I hope this newsletter finds you well in health and preparation for the colder months of winter.  It is important to be warm in our homes but it is also important to keep up our social activities and enjoy the warmth of friendship and a few laughs rather than hibernate until spring!!        Lessons we can learn from a snowman:

** Wearing white is always in style   **   Accessories don’t have to be expensive **

 ** If you’re a little bottom heavy, hey that’s OK **
Autumn Gold “Top of the South” Tour Review

Some seats still available – call now

Another great success with 2 full coaches travelling 1 day apart with all the arrangements going according to plan and due to the 2 night stay in Nelson, we managed to have both groups combine for a meal and fun “nautical” themed evening.  This gave passengers a chance to catch up with friends they had met on previous tours but weren’t travelling on the same coach this time.  Recurring comments from the thank you letters were that the meal of rabbit and venison at the Cardona Hall was a very enjoyable and fun evening with the sing-a-long on the way home a memorable way to spend the last night of the tour.  The visit to the Denniston mining area was also popular and now that it has been publicised that the mining activities are possibly going to recommence, the people lucky enough to be on the Autumn Gold Tour, are able to visualise natural assets being referred to.

North Island Tour of East Cape – Necklace of Picturesque Bays
2 departure dates in August 2012 – see below for details

We frequently receive comments that our office and coach staff are very helpful and patient with our travellers.  Those of you who have already decided to treat yourself to a late winter / early spring getaway holiday will experience this “old fashioned hospitality” first hand. The trips are fantastic value for money with so many meals being included and no “unexpected” costs popping up while travelling.  One of the comments we try to focus on when planning the tours is, “It amazes me how you search out such interesting places to visit, I am sure the average person travelling would never find them.”  This year’s North Island Tour is going to be no exception.  Fay, from our office recently spent her annual holiday travelling for the first time in this East Cape area.  Her comments – “It was amazing to see Murray’s itinerary come alive.  As we drove deeper into the historical cape area, we passed through many character communities, deserted beaches and historic sites”.

We already have enough registrations to have 2 departures but we still have a few spare seats on each coach.  If you are interested in coming along, give our office a call on our Freephone 0800 487 488 and grab one of the last few seats.  Remember our refund policy means there is no financial risk if you book and then have to cancel for some unexpected reason.

New Tours
We are still collecting ideas together for our proposed new lower South Island Tour which may incorporate some walking sections.  Due to the interest from people as far north as Timaru, We are having to rethink the route to enable us to incorporate everyone in the shorter time frame of up to 6 days.   We will keep you posted as our plans progress.

 Kind regards
